Earlier this evening Sports Illustrated published an article that caught my attention. The article tells of a law in Tennessee that may soon permit fans attending sporting events to carry guns inside the stadium. Yes, you read that correctly.
Personally, I believe this may be one of the most idiotic laws I have ever heard of. The idea of being in an enclosed space with tens of thousands of people carrying guns, drinking beer, and perhaps betting money doesn’t seem to exactly click. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for gun control and what not, but allowing firearms into sporting events seems like a bit much. What happens if one gun goes off? If someone shoots at an athlete or coach? This law is asking for nothing but chaos.
The newly proposed Tennessee law is already causing quite a stir (for obvious reason), but will surely be causing an even bigger stir if it passes. We would like to hear what you have to say on the matter!
Should gun owners with a concealed carry permit be allowed to bring their firearm into a sporting event?
